About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and proficient Part Time Accounts Administrator / Payroll Officer to join the team on a fixed-term basis (12 months) for maternity leave coverage, 20-25 hours per week.

The purpose of this role is to administer the company’s payroll for 70+ employees and work with the Administration Assistant to ensure the accounts function is adequately administered and managed.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

Payroll

  • Processing fortnightly and monthly payrolls for our Australian entity ensuring all timesheets, salary variations, leave, new starters, employment changes and terminations are processed as required.
  • Liaising with our international (US) payroll provider to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the monthly payroll for our globally distributed team.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Preparation and payment of quarterly and annual bonus / commissions.
  • Reconciliation and processing payments for PAYG (Payroll Tax) and Superannuation.
  • Maintenance and administration of employee records.

Accounts Payable

  • Ensuring all invoices are paid on time and in line with agreed vendor payment terms.
  • Process creditor payments with accuracy and timeliness in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Timely and accurate processing of staff expense reimbursements.
  • Bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows.
  • Produce month end and year end journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.

About you:

You will have proven end-to-end payroll processing experience, with an understanding of superannuation legislation and experience with Awards. Recent experience in accounts payable with strong skills in Microsoft Office suite and business accounting software systems. Additionally, you will have:

  • Quickbooks experience is essential, and experience using Employment Hero would be highly regarded.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business / Accounting / Bookkeeping highly regarded.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work autonomously and as a team.
  • Ability to spread your hours across each day of the week (Monday-Friday) for payroll processing.
